IZTACCIHUATL 5,215 MASL

Iztaccíhuatl, often referred to as "Izta", is the third highest mountain in Mexico, located in the eastern half of the country. Its name translates to "White Woman" in Nahuatl, which is derived from its snow-capped peaks that resemble a sleeping woman when viewed from a certain angle, giving it the appearance of a reclining figure. It is part of the Neovolcanic Cordillera, a mountain range in central Mexico.
